In an era in which ICT (Information & Communication Technology) has affirmed its position as an all-bearing element in the twenty-first century, as much in the professional sphere as in that of free time, the GITEX TECHNOLOGY WEEK presents itself as an event of enormous importance, supported by the customary contemporaneity of parallel events, among which there are GITEX Business Solutions, Consumer Electronics and GULFCOMMS.
Recent estimates on the computer technology market have shown that this sector will achieve a growth rate, of almost 100% compared to 2003 in Middle East countries and North Africa, areas which represent the third top market in the world in growth terms after India and China.
Contributing to this evident and considerable increase, which includes both hardware and software, there are all the countries located geographically in the MENA area (Middle East & North Africa Countries), albeit to a different extent in terms of improvement, maintenance and support for available technology, planning, training and professional refresher training.
The ICT sectors which are currently registering more rapid growth in the region, that is, IT business solutions, telecommunications and consumer electronics, find their most ample and complete responses among the events cited, of which GITEX is the main hub.
GITEX Business solutions, the IT trade event for businesses and small to medium sized companies in the Middle East, Africa and south east Asia, combines technology for large networks, for security and the office, and informatics for the world’s largest companies.
GULFCOMMS, the biggest trade event in the telecommunications sector, is a launch pad for new products and for the consolidation of market positions for the world’s most important companies.
There were two new items in the latest edition, and which will be re-proposed also in the next:
1. The sector devoted to Consumer Electronics, specifically geared to electronic for the consumer, with particular regard to informatics systems, their components and peripherals, for the Middle east, Africa and southern Asia. Absorbing interactive demonstrations and a complete display of trendsetting electronics products contribute to the launch of new products guaranteed to have success on world markets.
2. The GITEX TECHNOLOGY WEEK Global Conference, the Global Conference on the GITEX TECHNOLOGY WEEK, which included a series of theme based conferences, discussion groups and social network meetings.
